Public Consultation Period Open for Conservation Lands

Otonabee Conservation has embarked upon a program to develop management statements for all of its properties. The purpose of a conservation area management statement is to describe the long-term ownership, management objectives and associated stewardship activities for the property.

Otonabee Conservation is currently developing a management statement for three of its properties:

Brookwood Wildlife Area – DRAFT Management Statement

Squirrel Creek Conservation Area – DRAFT Management Statement

Warsaw Caves Conservation Area – DRAFT Management Statement.

All of the properties provide ecological services to support a healthy and resilient natural environment and also provide opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Members of the watershed community and other interested individuals are welcome to review and provide comments to Otonabee Conservation about the proposed conservation area management statements.

Public Consultation Period: February 1st to March 17, 2018.

If you have any questions, or would like to submit your comments, please do so by March 17, 2018 to the individual listed under “Contact”. All comments received on or before March 17, 2018 will be considered as part of the decision-making process by Otonabee Conservation if they are submitted in writing or electronically.

All comments and submissions received will become part of the public record. Your personal information may be used in the decision making process respecting the management statements and it may be used to contact you if clarification of your comment is required.
