Canoeing/Kayaking

Come spend some time with us on the water in a canoe or kayak. It’s Canoeing 101 – flat water, a gentle current, and lots of great scenery and wildlife.

At Beavermead Campground, you can explore downtown Peterborough from the water as you paddle along Meade Creek and on into Little Lake.

From Warsaw Caves Conservation Area, a canoe trip to the village of Warsaw is only two hours out and two hours back and makes a great day trip. Or, you can just amble along the Indian River at your leisure for as little or as long as you like.

New this year, at Lakefield Campground, you’ll enjoy flat water, a gentle current, and lots of great scenery and wildlife along the Otonabee River and Katchewanooka Lake. Paddle around to the adjacent Imagine The Marsh Conservation Area to explore Lakefield Marsh, a Provincially Significant Wetland that is protected for source water protection, biological diversity, conservation education, and nature appreciation.

Canoe and Kayak rentals are available at all three locations, or bring your own canoe/kayak. Rentals are available 9:00 a.m – 6:30 p.m. each day at $12.50 per hour or $50.00 per day.
