Otonabee Conservation owned lands (conservation areas, wildlife areas and forest properties) were originally acquired for purposes of water management, scientific research, fish and wildlife habitat, forestry, recreation and conserving areas of significant natural and cultural heritage.
Outdoor recreation continues to be an important aspect of many of these lands, providing countless hours of enjoyment for watershed residents and visitors to the region. Conservation lands contribute significantly to the social, environmental and economic health of the community.
