June 21, 2020 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. On this day, Otonabee Conservation acknowledges and celebrates the unique heritage, culture, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people, and in particular to the First Peoples on the treaty and traditional territory of the Mississauga Annishnaabeg who have inhabited the land in the Otonabee Region watershed, long before the Conservation Authority formed.
We offer our gratitude for First Nations’ care for, and teachings about our earth and our relations. May we honour those teachings today, and always.
