
Discovery Days returns to Beavermead Campground on Saturday and Sunday, August 12th and 13th.
Be sure to have your Discovery Days Passport “stamped” by Otonabee Conservation. And remember to submit your Passport to Otonabee Conservation by Friday, October 13th, 2017 for the random draw!
Discovery Days events and activities are free for campers and visitors to Beavermead Campground.
Here’s what’s happening this weekend:
SATURDAY, August 12th:
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Outdoor Yoga – all you need to bring with you is a mat or a towel – all ages welcome!
1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Live Music and Puppet Show, with Glen and the Paddling Puppeteers featuring songs and stories of the Kawartha Lakes and Forests
2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Turtles of Ontario, featuring live turtles that call Ontario home!
8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m – Campfire at the Group Campsite ~~
8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Bat Walk!! Are you interested in watching the nocturnal antics of local bats? Join us for a night walk to learn about local bat species, behaviour and habitat.
SUNDAY, August 13th:
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Fishing Workshop! Join in the fun of the OFAH/OPG TackleShare Program and learn to fish this summer! Program includes games, fish identification, and all equipment is provided on loan for this fun program.
1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Guided Paddling Tour of Meade Creek and Little Lake
