Shoreline Buffer Planting
Grade 11 environmental science students from St. Peter Catholic Secondary School planted native trees and shrubs along Curtis Creek in City of Peterborough on October 25th, 2022! These plants create a buffer along the shoreline to help filter sediment and other pollutants that are carried in runoff that can flow from the adjacent roadway. The buffer also provides habitat for wildlife, helps mitigate climate change, and beautifies the area.

Water Quality Monitoring
Students also participated in a workshop to learn about the work that Otonabee Conservation does in our watershed to monitor water quality!
