Campsite reservations are up 300% from last year, after first month of bookings for Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Beavermead Campground

Peterborough, Ontario (March 31, 2021) Reservations for Otonabee Conservation’s two campgrounds, Beavermead Campground and Warsaw Caves Conservation Area (CA), opened up online on March 1st. After just one month of bookings, the number of campsite reservations has increased over 300% in comparison with the opening month in 2020.
Beavermead Campground has seen an increase of 218% for bookings and with 3,470 more camping nights booked in the first month, than last year. Beavermead offers campers a unique stay right within the City of Peterborough with swimming, fishing, paddling, trails nearby, and is in the vicinity of the downtown core with shopping and restaurants only minutes away by bicycle.
Warsaw Caves CA has seen an increase of 108% for bookings during the first month, in comparison with last year. Warsaw Caves offers swimming, fishing, paddling, and some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Kawartha’s.
“More people are camping now because it offers a safe and nearby vacation option during the pandemic,” explains Jessie James, Manager of Conservation Lands for Otonabee Conservation, “As always, we are happy to promote activities in nature, which are helpful for boosting mental health, relieving stress, and providing a chance for some solitude, but especially now during these unprecedented times.”
There are still plenty of bookings available for the 2021 camping season. Campers can reserve their campsite through the Let’s Camp online reservation platform. Those wishing to book a site at Warsaw Caves Conservation Area can visit warsawcaves.letscamp.ca and at Beavermead Campground can visit beavermead.letscamp.ca.
