Squirrel Creek Conservation Area is a 111.4 hectare area maintained by the Township of Otonabee South Monaghan. It provides the public with day-use recreational activities such as swimming, baseball, hiking, boating, and fishing.
Squirrel Creek Conservation Area is located along the Otonabee River, offering a lovely public beach and a boat launch that is free for the public to use. The area also features two picnic shelters and two baseball diamonds. It is a great place to snowshoe and cross-country ski in winter.

CAMPING
There is no overnight camping at Squirrel Creek Conservation Area.
BOATING and PADDLING
Squirrel Creek Conservation Area offers a free boat launch with access to the Otonabee River. Take a cruise in your motorized boat up river to Peterborough or downstream to Rice Lake; go for a paddle in your canoe or kayak along the shoreline of the Otonabee River and up Squirrel Creek, which is located downstream and within minutes of the boat launch.
SPORTS FIELDS
Squirrel Creek Conservation Area has two baseball diamonds. For more information, or to book one of these baseball diamonds, please contact the Arena and Recreation Manager at the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan.
PICNIC FACILITIES
Squirrel Creek Conservation Areas offers 2 picnic shelters, which are available on a first come first serve basis. There are additional maintained open areas located close to the parking lot and waterfront, which are suitable for small family gatherings. The use of alcohol is not permitted in these areas.
SWIMMING
Unsupervised public swimming is offered at this location. Dogs are not permitted at the beach. The consumption of alcohol is prohibited.

FISHING
Fishing is permitted from the shore of Squirrel Creek; you can expect to catch pan fish, large and small mouth bass, and many other species.
HUNTING
Waterfowl hunting only, is permitted at Squirrel Creek Conservation Area and only along south shoreline of squirrel creek.
