Selwyn Beach Conservation Area is located on the northeast shore of Chemong Lake and is best known for its excellent swimming provided by a gently sloping sandy beach. The conservation area also offers a boat launch and docking facility, a large picnic shelter, group camping area and hiking trails.

CAMPING
There is no overnight camping at Selwyn Beach Conservation Area.
Group camping is not available.
Fires are not permitted.
PICNIC FACILITIES
Picnickers will enjoy the convenience of the picnic shelter, with central barbecue and tables, washrooms, and change houses located near the beach area.

The use of alcohol is not permitted at picnic facilities.
SWIMMING
The gently sloping sandy beach and swimming area offer a great way to cool down on hot, sunny days. Parents and caregivers are advised that the beach and swimming area are not supervised. Sorry, no dogs allowed on the beach.

BOATING & PADDLING
Boat launching and docking facilities at Selwyn Beach Conservation Area provide access to Chemong Lake, which is on the Kawartha Lakes and Trent Severn Waterway for those who enjoy recreational boating. There is no charge to launch your boat or to use the boat dock.
FISHING
The variety of fish at Selwyn Beach Conservation Area includes perch, sunfish and smallmouth bass.
All Ontario residents between 18 and 65 years of age require a fishing licence to legally fish in Ontario waters. There is an exception to this rule is the licence –free period during Ontario Family Fishing Events.

All anglers should be familiar with the provincial fishing regulations, which define seasons, catch limits on various species of fish and other matters. Refer to the Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources for more information.
River flows can change throughout the season along the rivers and streams within the Otonabee Region watershed. Anglers need to be aware of the changes because, as flows increase, the waterways can become dangerous. Also, please be aware of where you are fishing in relation to Otonabee Conservation water control structures (dams, weirs).
HIKING
Selwyn Beach Conservation Area offers approximately 3km of hiking trails with natural scenic views, making the property an ideal destination for nature viewing. The property has a diverse range of habitats and ecosystems to explore.
ATVs are not allowed on site.
