General Terms and Conditions

Camping Permits

  • Camping permits will only be issued under the name of the actual campsite occupant.
  • Camping permits will only be issued to persons 19 years of age or older. Proof of age will be required upon check-in.
  • Failure to show proof of age will result in cancellation of reservation, associated camping fees will be non-refundable.
  • A two (2) night minimum reservation is required on holiday weekends.

  • Note that fees and services vary from park to park.
  • Beginning in 2022 all bookings will be subject to a booking fee. Reservation fees will be paid by the camper at the time of booking and are non-refundable.

Cancellations and Modifications

  • Cancellation and modification fees and refund eligibility vary based on site type (See site type details below).
  • Campsite reservations can only be modified or cancelled by the original account holder or a pre-authorized designate.
  • Refunds will NOT be given for any of the following reasons including weather (rain, wind, snow, temperature), water quality (beach closures, non-potable water), air quality, wildlife, insects/pests, fire bans, liquor bans, leaving early or where notice is not provided.
  • Refunds will be given when a campsite has been deemed unusable by Otonabee Conservation staff for the any of the following reasons including flooding, poor site conditions, and power outages. The reservation holder will be notified within 48 hours of their scheduled arrival date. Under these circumstances a reservation can be transferred to a comparable campsite based on availability. If no comparable campsites are available or the reservation holder decides to cancel, a full refund of camping fees will be given.
  • Otonabee Conservation is not obligated to issue a camping permit. Staff may refuse entrance to any person(s) whose conduct is deemed, or may be detrimental to the operation of the conservation area.

Late Arrivals/No Shows

  • The park office must be notified of a late arrival.
  • A late arrival is a planned arrival after 11:00 a.m. of the day following your scheduled arrival date. For example, if you’re scheduled to arrive on Friday, the reservation is held until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
  • If notice of a late arrival is NOT provided and the camper does not register by 11:00 a.m. the day following the scheduled arrival date, the reservation is considered a “no-show” and will be cancelled. The campsite will be released as a new booking.
  • Up to 2 nights camping fees will be charged, depending on the length of booking. Any remaining camping fees will be refunded to the credit card that was used for the original transaction.

Regular Campsite Reservation Rules

Description

  • A maximum of 6 people or a family of parents and children per site.
  • One vehicle per site; one additional vehicle per site is allowed for a fee.

  • Reservations can be made:

  • Full payment of camping fees is required at time of booking.
  • Accepted methods of payment:
  • Online or by phone
    • Credit card only
  • In person
    • Credit card, debit card or cash
  • Cheques are not accepted

Cancellations and Modifications

Refunds

  • Reservations cancelled up to 48 hours (2 days) before 11:00 a.m. of the originally-scheduled arrival date will be fully refunded.
  • Reservations cancelled up to 24 hours (1 day) before 11:00 a.m. of the originally-scheduled arrival date will be charged 1 nights of camping fees, the remaining camping fees will be refunded.
  • Reservations cancelled with less than 24 hours (1 day) before 11:00 a.m. of the originally-scheduled arrival date or no-shows will be charged 2 nights of camping fees, the remaining camping fees will be refunded.

Seasonal Campsite Reservation Rules

Otonabee Conservation offers seasonal camping at Beavermead Campground. Availability of seasonal campsites varies. For more information about seasonal camping, contact the Beavermead Campground park gatehouse during the operating season Mid-May to Mid-Oct at 705-742-9712 or outside the operating season at the Otonabee Conservation administrative office at 705-745-5791.

  • A maximum of six people or greater number if they are a single family of parents and their children per site.
  • Up to 2 vehicles per site

  • Payment of the Seasonal Campsite Deposit and completion of Seasonal Camping Agreement are required before booking a site.
  • Full payment of seasonal camping fees (less Seasonal Campsite Deposit) is required before arrival at campground.

Payment (Lakefield Campground Only)

  • Payment of the Seasonal Campsite Deposit and completion of Seasonal Camping Agreement are required before booking a site.
  • Full payment of seasonal camping fees (less Seasonal Campsite Deposit) is required before arrival at campground.
  • The Seasonal Camping Agreement can be submitted online, mailed, emailed, or brought to the ORCA administrative office. Seasonal Camping Fees of can be paid by credit card, cash, or cheque. See below for more details:

Monthly Payment Breakdown (Lakefield Campground Only)

  • For the 2023 season only, a monthly payment option will be available for seasonal camping fees.
  • Seasonal campers that previously paid monthly camping fees will be required to provide documentation (i.e. previous seasonal camping agreement or valid proof of payment) to verify their enrollment in monthly payments with the previous operator.
  • The first monthly payment will be due at the time of submitting the seasonal camping agreement.
  • Monthly payments are due on or before the first day of each month.
  • If paying by cheque they must be dated for the 1st day of May, June, July, August, and September of 2023.
  • Payments not received by the fist day of each month may result in eviction from the campground

Refunds

  • Reservations cancelled up to 14 days before the scheduled campground opening date with receive a full refund of the Seasonal Campsite Deposit
  • Reservations cancelled with less than 14 days before the scheduled campground opening date will forfeit the Seasonal Campsite Deposit.

Group Campsite Reservation Rules

Description

Group campsites are available for booking at Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Beavermead Campground. Group campsites can accommodate between 24 and 78 people.

Definition of a Group

Organized Group:

  • Members of a religious, charitable, educational or other philanthropic or similar properly constituted organization, R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 128, s. 8 (3).
  • Maximum group size is dependent on the capacity limit of the specific group camp-sites (i.e. 24-78 people).
  • No minimum group size.
  • No limit on the number of vehicles.
  • Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.

Other Group:

  • Groups that do not meet the legal definition of an organized group (above).
  • Minimum requirements to book a group camp-site, 4 Camping Permits (allows 4 vehicles and 24 people).
  • Maximum group size is dependent on the capacity limit of the specific group camp-sites (i.e. 24-78 people or 4-13 Camping Permits).
  • A camping permit must be purchased for each vehicle, Maximum of 6 people per vehicle.
  • Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is restricted to your campsite. Please drink responsibly

  • Reservations cancelled up to 14 days before the originally-scheduled arrival date will be fully refunded.
