1. Do existing seasonal campers from Lakefield Campground need to confirm by if they are returning for the 2023 camping season by January 31st?

Yes. Existing seasonal campers will be required to contact us by January 31st to confirm they will be returning to the campground for the 2023 season. Campers can contact us by email at lakefield@otonabeeconservation.com or call our administrative office at 705-745-5791 ext. 0.

Typically, we begin booking seasonal sites mid to late February. We need to know which sites are occupied and which will be vacant before we can start new 2023 bookings. The seasonal campsite lottery will only take place if vacant sites become available.

2. When does the 2023 camping season start at Lakefield Campground?

The 2023 camping season will start Friday, May 12th and end Monday, October 9th.

3. Will seasonal campers be able access the campground to perform maintenance on their trailer before the start of the camping season on May 12th?

Seasonal campers may enter the Lakefield Campground during the day (8:30am-4:30pm) from May 1st to May 12th to perform maintenance on their trailer. There will be no campsite occupancy/use permitted until May 12th.

4. What are the 2023 seasonal camping fees for Lakefield Campground?

2023 Seasonal Camping Fees can be found on the Lakefield Campground webpage. Seasonal Camping Fees include hydro, water, and sewer connection or weekly pump out services. Seasonal Camping Fees are also inclusive of all applicable taxes.

5. When will the Seasonal Camping Agreement be available?

The 2023 Seasonal Camping Agreement will be available by January 31st. Once available, campers who are on our winter storage contact list will receive an email with a digital copy of the seasonal camping agreement. There will also be a link to the seasonal camping agreement added on the Lakefield Campground page on the Otonabee Conservation website.

6. Will a monthly payment option be available for seasonal camping fees?

For the 2023 season only, a monthly payment option will be available for seasonal camping fees.

Seasonal campers that previously paid monthly camping fees will be required to provide documentation (i.e. previous seasonal camping agreement or valid proof of payment) to verify their enrollment in monthly payments with the previous operator.

A Monthly Payment Agreement will be available by January 31st. The first monthly payment will be due at the time of submitting the seasonal camping and monthly payment agreements. Please contact us to confirm you would like to continue with a monthly payment option for the 2023 camping season.

7. When are 2023 seasonal camping fees due?

Seasonal campers who previously paid full seasonal camping fees at the beginning of the season will be required to pay a $500 deposit at the time of submitting the seasonal camping agreement. The remaining total camping fee amount is to be paid to Otonabee Conservation on or before May 12th.

For the 2023 camping season:

Seasonal Camping Agreement can be mailed, emailed, or brought to the ORCA administrative office.

Seasonal Camping Fees of can be paid by credit card, cash, or cheque.

8. Will dock rentals be available for seasonal campers?

The Township of Selwyn is planning to install a new 24-slip docking system at Lakefield Campground for the 2023 camping season. Otonabee Conservation will be administering dock rentals for seasonal campers. Seasonal campers that previously paid for dock rentals will be required to provide documentation (i.e. previous seasonal dock rental agreement or valid proof of payment) to verify they were previously paying seasonal docking fees. A Seasonal Dock Rental Agreement will be available by May 12th. The Seasonal Dock Rental Fee for 2023 will be $570/season.

9. Can a seasonal campsite be included with the sale of a trailer?

The sale of a trailer in combination with a seasonal campsite is not permitted. The sale of trailer does not include the rental of the seasonal campsite on which the trailer is located. Should a trailer be sold mid-season, refunds will be issued for the balance of the seasonal camping fee to the person named on the seasonal camping agreement.
