Otonabee Conservation AGM celebrated 2022’s successes and highlights climate change, nature & health with Keynote Speaker, Dr. Thomas Piggott, Medical Officer of Health.
The Otonabee Conservation Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held online on the evening of January 26th. Over 40 watershed residents, supporters, donors, staff, and members of the board of directors joined virtually to celebrate Otonabee Conservation’s accomplishments from 2022.
Deputy Mayor Ryan Huntley from the Township of Cavan-Monaghan was re-elected into the role as Chair, and Deputy Mayor Michael Metcalf from the Municipality of Trent Hills was re-elected into the role as Vice-Chair for the 2023 year.
Attendees of the AGM were inspired by keynote speaker, Dr. Thomas Piggott, Medical Officer of Health with Peterborough Public Health, who spoke about the linkages between public health and climate change, calling on organizations and elected officials to work together to enact the necessary changes needed to tackle the climate emergency. Those who were unable to view Dr. Piggott’s live presentation can do so any time by visiting the Otonabee Conservation YouTube channel.
